or drop a file here Your files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Choose an image or drop it on the box above.
  2. Drag the box to move it and pull the handles to resize it. Pick a shape, or type the exact size in pixels.
  3. Choose JPG, PNG or WebP and press Crop and download.

Private by design

Your photo is opened by your own browser and cropped there. It is never uploaded.

The crop is taken from the full resolution image, so the part you keep is as sharp as the original. The saved file has no hidden metadata, so the location of the photo is not included.

Which aspect ratio to choose when cropping

The shape you crop to depends on where the picture is going. Square 1:1 is for profile pictures and many social media posts. 16:9 fits widescreen video, slides and website banners. 9:16 suits phone wallpapers, stories and reels. 4:3 and 3:4 match most camera photos and print sizes.

Crop before you resize. First choose the part of the photo that matters, then make the result smaller if you need to. Leave a little space around faces and products, because tight crops often look cramped. Rotate a crooked photo a quarter turn or flip it here before you save.

Cropping cannot add detail. If you crop a small part from a big photo and then show it large, it will look soft. Start from the original, full size photo for the best result, not from a copy that was already sent through a chat app, because those are often made smaller on the way.

Questions

How do I crop to a perfect square?

Press 1:1. The box then keeps a square shape while you move and resize it.

Can I set an exact size in pixels?

Yes. Type the width or the height below the image. With a shape chosen, the other side follows automatically. The size of the box is also shown live while you drag.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Drag the box with one finger and pull the round handles at the corners and sides.

Will the quality drop?

The pixels you keep are not scaled. Saving as PNG keeps them exactly, JPG and WebP are saved at high quality.

How do I crop a photo into a circle?

This tool crops to rectangles and squares. Crop to 1:1 here, and most profile picture sites will show it as a circle for you.

Can I crop several photos at once?

No, one photo at a time, so you can choose the right part of each picture.

Can I flip a selfie that looks mirrored?

Yes. Use the flip button to mirror it, then save.
