Private by design
Your images are converted by your own browser. They are never uploaded, so it is private and quick, even for a big batch.
The pictures keep their full size and stay the right way up. Hidden details such as camera model and location are left out of the new files.
Questions
Which format should I pick?
JPG opens everywhere and is best for photos. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency, ideal for logos and screenshots. WebP is smaller than both and works in all modern browsers and most apps.
What happens to transparent areas?
PNG and WebP keep them. JPG can't store transparency, so those areas are filled with the background colour you choose, white by default.
Can I convert TIFF or AVIF files?
AVIF works in up to date browsers. TIFF only opens in browsers that support it, such as Safari. If a file can't be opened, the list says so and the other files are still converted.
What about animated GIFs?
Only the first frame is converted, because JPG, PNG and WebP made here are still images.
