Private by design
Spreadsheets often hold prices, salaries or customer lists. Here they are read by your own browser and never uploaded, so nobody else sees the numbers.
Each sheet becomes a tidy table with the values as they show in Excel, including bold text, fill colours, merged cells and column widths. Long sheets continue over as many pages as needed.
How to fit an Excel sheet on one page width
The most common problem when you print or save a spreadsheet as PDF is columns spilling onto extra pages. Choose landscape and turn on Fit columns to the page width, and every column fits across one page. Long sheets then simply run on to the next pages.
Hide or delete columns you do not need before converting, and leave out sheets with notes or raw data by tapping their names. Very wide sheets get small text when they are fitted, so landscape with A4 or Letter is usually the best balance.
This works well for price lists, timesheets, class lists and invoices made in Excel or exported as CSV. Charts and pictures are not included, so for a dashboard with charts, use Excel's own Save as PDF instead. Formulas show the last saved result, so open and save the file in Excel first if the numbers might be out of date.
Questions
Does it keep my Excel layout?
It keeps the values as Excel shows them, column widths, merged cells, bold text and fill colours. Print areas, page breaks, headers, charts, pictures, custom borders and conditional formatting are not used. Formulas show the result that was saved in the file.
What does Fit columns to the page width do?
Wide sheets are scaled down so every column fits across one page. Turn it off to keep the text at full size. Columns that do not fit then continue on extra pages.
Can I convert CSV files?
Yes. Commas, semicolons, tabs and pipes are detected automatically, and accents and other special characters are kept.
Does it work with password protected workbooks?
A workbook that needs a password to open is encrypted and cannot be read here. Remove the password in Excel first. Sheets that are only protected against editing open fine.
Can I convert Excel to PDF on my phone?
Yes. Choose the file in your phone's browser, set the page options and download the PDF.
Can I convert only one sheet?
Yes. In a workbook with several sheets, tap the names of the sheets you want to leave out.
Does it work with Google Sheets or Numbers?
