Watermark PDF

Put a word like DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL, or your logo, on every page. See exactly how it looks before you save.

or drop files here Your files stay on this device. Nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Choose one or more PDF files.
  2. Type your text or pick a logo, then set the size, colour, angle and position. The preview updates as you go.
  3. Press Add watermark and download your files, one by one or all at once.

Private by design

Your PDFs are opened and stamped inside your browser. They are not uploaded anywhere, so this is safe for contracts, offers and internal documents.

The watermark is added to the PDF as real text or a real image, so it stays sharp when you zoom or print. Pages keep their text, links and quality.

When to add a watermark to a PDF

A watermark tells everyone what a document is and where it came from. Common uses are DRAFT on a contract that is not final, CONFIDENTIAL on internal reports, COPY on a scanned ID you send to a landlord, or your logo on offers and portfolios. Type the text or choose an image and watch the preview.

Keep it readable but not in the way. An opacity around 20 to 30 percent and a diagonal angle work well for text. Tiled covers the whole page, which makes it harder to crop out, which is useful on ID copies. For a logo, use a PNG with a transparent background.

A watermark is a visible label, not a lock. It does not stop copying or printing, and someone with the right software could remove it. For ID copies, also write who the copy is for and the date in the watermark text.

Questions

Can someone remove the watermark?

A watermark makes it clear where a copy came from, but anyone with a PDF editor could remove it. For stronger protection, combine it with sharing a flattened copy.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Choose Some pages and type the pages you want, for example 1-3, 5.

Does it work on pages that are turned sideways?

Yes. The watermark is placed on the page as you see it on screen, so it looks right on portrait, landscape and rotated pages.

Which characters can I use in the text?

Letters, numbers and accents used in Western European languages. Other scripts such as Chinese or Arabic are not supported. You can use a logo image instead.

How do I watermark a copy of my passport or ID?

Turn the photo or scan into a PDF first, then add a text such as COPY FOR RENTAL, with the date. Use Tiled so it covers the whole document.

Can I watermark many PDFs at once?

Yes. Choose all the files, set up the watermark once, and download them one by one or together.

Can I change the colour and transparency?

Yes. Pick any colour and set the opacity, size and angle. The preview shows the result before you save.
