Compress a PDF
Make PDFs smaller so they fit in an email or upload form. One file or a whole folder at once.
How it works
- Choose one or more PDFs, or drop them on the box above.
- Pick a level. Strong gives the smallest file, Light keeps everything exactly as it was.
- Check the new sizes and download them one by one or all at once.
Private by design
Large PDFs are usually large because of scanned pages or photos. Strong and Balanced redraw each page as a lighter image, which shrinks scans a lot. The catch is that text can no longer be selected or searched.
Light keeps text and images untouched and only tidies up the file. It helps less, but nothing changes in how the document looks.
Questions
How much smaller will my PDF get?
Scanned documents often shrink by 70 to 90 percent on Strong. PDFs that are mostly text are already small and may not shrink much.
Why is my text no longer selectable?
Strong and Balanced turn each page into an image to save space. Choose Light if you need to keep selectable text.
Is there a size limit?
No limit from us. Very large files depend on the memory of your device.
Can I compress many PDFs at once?
Yes. Drop them all in, press Compress all, and download them together as one zip file.
